Colors Used In Embroidery Digitizing

Embroidery digitizing is an interesting concept of beautifying clothing and fabrics. Today practically all types of fabrics can be embroidered using the right stabilizer in embroidery digitizing. Though the practice of embroidery digitizing is rather easy where only a computer and embroidery digitizing software is required, there is always the possibility of complications arising with embroidery digitizing. However, with the right information and tips on embroidery digitizing, it is possible to come up with a design that is the eye of envy to everyone.

The most commonly used embroidery thread weight is 40wt thread while 60wt or 90wt thread is used as the bobbin thread. The number of thread breaks and problems that may occur in embroidery digitizing is greatly affected by the quality of thread used for it. The best thread to use is polyester thread as it is the most color safe and durable.

In embroidery digitizing, there is no problem in using different colors from the colors found in a design. There is also no need of fretting if you don’t have the same colors or brand of thread used in the design. Slight changes in the shades and tones of the colored threads don’t pose to be quite noticeable on the completion of the design.

Embroidery digitizing proves to be more interesting if you can adjust different colors for different fabrics colors. It is better to use the background color change feature found in the embroidery digitizing software to determine which color looks the best on the fabric you use. If this feature is absent in your software, keep different colors of felt and fabric nearby to test the different colors on them before starting on the design.

When starting on creating an embroidery digitizing design, it proves to be beneficial to go through the entire design collection to find out where the design look can be changed just with a color change. Even fruits and flower designs look different and more attractive with a color change in the design. So it can be seen that embroidery digitizing does not mean you have to follow the design that you find in the design book or software. You can create much more interesting and appealing designs by using your imagination and color instincts to make the design more interesting.

7 Tips To Better Photos

After I bought my first digital camera, complete with its little viewing screen, people would usually ask, “Can I see the picture?” Children would ask me to take their picture, and then run over and ask to see it, then run back and ask me to take another!

It’s great to have all that excitement, but were my pictures actually the best they could be?

Here are 7 tips that I have learned that have improved the quality of my photos.

1. Always use the highest resolution setting. At the start, I had the resolution set to medium. That way I was able to take about 100 pictures before having to download the memory card to my computer’s hard disk. That was fine for viewing on screen, but then one day I wanted to do an 8x10 paper version, and the results were disappointing. Now I always use the highest resolution my cameras can provide. I have had to spend some money on more memory cards, but it was worth it.

2. Use a Tripod. Even the slightest movement of the camera can create a blurry image. Invest in a tripod. I have also found that when taking group shots, I am better able to judge when to “click” if I am looking directly at the group, rather than through the view finder.

3. Buy a Good Photo-Editing Program. Perhaps your camera came with Photoshop Elements, or similar. If not, go to your computer retailer and buy one. Not only can you fix blemishes (maybe Susan was having a bad zit day), but you can do more creative things as well. Recently I combined a photo of my grand-daughter with one of Dora-the-Explorer. Jasmine loved it.

4. Use the Lowest Compression Setting. As you use that fancy photo editing program, be careful of your compression setting. Most programs default to “jpeg” format, which saves space by selectively removing pixels, and recreating them the next time you view the photo. If you open, edit, and save a photo multiple times, the over-all quality decreases. Try to do all your editing in one pass, using the lowest compression, or use a format like “tiff”, which does not compress.

5. Get in Close. Don’t waste pixels on excess background. Get in closer, either physically or with an optical zoom setting.

6. Good Things Come in Threes (or more!). Considering the incremental costs of taking a photo with a digital camera (close to nil!), you should take lots of shots. If the shot is available for more than a few seconds, take more that one exposure. I always tell the subjects of my photos that I will be taking at least 2 or 3 shots of them. A blink at the wrong time ruins the potential.

7. Read the Manual. In fact, read it more than once. As if I have to explain this one!

Here’s an equation for you.

(LOTS of photos with your digital camera) + (the above tips) = (a day coming soon when you’ll be proud to show off your creations)

Coin Buying 101

The Origin of Coins and Coin Collecting The hobby of coin collecting began nearly as soon as the first coins were minted in Asia Minor, around 650 B.C.

The history of gold coins dates as far back as 2,700 years ago. The first gold coins in the world were issued in Lydia around 640 B.C. certain internet websites will provide you with a lot of information about the history of gold coins.

Gold coins are a favorite of coin collectors with an eye toward investment.

How would you feel if you knew that you had handed over a penny worth $2,000 or more as change for a dollar?

Avoid touching the coin unnecessarily, as dirt and grease from your fingers will tarnish the finish over time. Exposure to air oxidizes metal, changing its colour. Many collect coins to commemorate great events in their lives, a child's graduation, a new baby…or to mark historical events such as the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

Some people happily collect more common everyday coins, going through their pockets at the end of the day for them is fun, checking dates and mintmarks on their change. Some collectors can spend thousands of dollars on rare silver and gold coins from the 1800's and early 1900's. Some collect coins from different countries.

Commemorative coins are a popular form of collection, as are rare minted coins like those which had an error in their stamping. If a certain set of coins doesn’t interest you, it won’t be any fun at all to become a collector.

Coin dealers will also be more likely to recognize a counterfeit coin, have a higher chance of hearing about the sale of the specific rare coins that interest you, and will recognize an asking price that is over- or undervalued. As an investor, these are all critically important points for your success.

Coin buying 101

There are various sources where those “special coins” can be purchased. The following are the basic methods and starting places to obtain the coin(s) you have long wanted.

Go local

Coin shops are plentiful in most states. Generally your local area or city will have coin shops which you can visit to see if they have the coins available that you want to add to your collection. Most of these coin shops are located in the larger town or cities. Better yet, use your local phone book and start walking those fingers through the pages to find out where the nearest coin shop(s) is located... These shops provide coin collectors the opportunity to actually examine or scrutinize the coins that interest you. Fortunately, these coin shops are also replete with experts and coin lovers who share your passion and can offer their valid judgment on a particular coin’s grade or value. They can also offer helpful tips as well as advice.

Local coin shops may sometimes have a limited stock or collection of coins and the price they offer them for may be a little bit higher than usual. This scenario usually applies to collectors.

Auctions for coins

Coin collecting for investment purposes can be a tricky endeavor. You will need someone to buy the coins from, and it can be difficult to find a reputable coin dealer. Someone who has been coin collecting for years can help you choose a knowledgeable and honest coin dealer. You'll need to learn about the value of different coins.

The Philadelphia mint used no mint mark until 1980, when it started stamping coins with tiny P's. Yet somehow, a small number of dimes minted in 1982 were a throwback to the time before the mint mark, and bear no letter P.

For most gold coin collectors, there are the highly coveted rare gold coins and a lot of gold coin collectors are interested in these rare gold coins that they will offer high bids just to be able to get their hands on these.

Coin Collection in Renaissance Times Modern coin collecting, where the coins are viewed as a work of art as well as a collection of valuable legal tender, is widely thought to have begun with Francesco Petrarca, or Petrarch, who is often called the father of the Renaissance.

The Augustus Saint-Gauden Double Eagle is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful coins America has ever produced.

Everybody wants to make sure that their investment is protected, but there are no guarantees, especially in rare coins. In fact, some rare coins take years to appreciate to the point of being able to sell it profitably.

The lure of coins lies in its power to draw people into the era it belonged to. These coins show many aspects of everyday life during those times.

There are so many different kinds of rare coins to collect, ranging from gold bullion coins to ancient Roman coins, that it is impossible to be a true expert in all of them. You'll want to find a merchant that specializes in the particular area that is of interest to you.

There are also auctions specifically for coins. This method is a very effective – if not excellent – way to purchase coins. It is extremely important that prior to attending an auction you know the procedures and rules that apply. There are various types of auctions; bidding auctions via mail, internet, as well as auctions conducted by phone. Always be aware and wary! It is important to make sure that you set a fixed price on the coin you are about to bid on. Auctions can turn very emotional and aggressive. Practice discipline and try not to bid more than the ceiling price you have set for yourself.

Buying coins by mail

This method is a very convenient and inexpensive way to purchase coins. Most dealers that transact via mail usually have overhead costs that are low so they are able to offer similarly low prices on coins they sell.

Do not forget to thoroughly inspect a particular dealer’s policies before returning an item. Make sure that once you receive your coin, immediately inspect it for authenticity or damage. The coin you must have must be just as you ordered and what you expected.

In summary, coin buying is not difficult. All you need is to research and look for the best product available. Always be on the lookout for rare gold coins, and have coins appraised by a gold coin expert to avoid large differences in price. Today, building a fascinating collection of coins does not have to be expensive, and everyone can participate in this exciting pastime.

An avid coin collector will be able to tell you virtually every piece of history that surrounds any coin in their collection both because they tend to specialize and because knowledge is one of the most important factors when it comes to starting and maintaining a collection of any value or worth.

Possibly. In 1991, only 459,000 25-cent coins were struck (the annual number is usually closer to 100 million). 'Mint State' versions of these coins are worth about $8.

Some collect coins related to kings and queens. Some collect those related to plants and animals. Generally speaking, putting demand aside, the more scare/rare a coin, the higher its value. This is usually very true, especially when comparing dates within the same series.

Some precious coins with double stamping include doubled-die Lincoln cents from 1972, 1983, and 1984, and a doubled quarter minted in New York in 2001.

While there are some real gold coin enthusiasts in the internet, there are also those people who are posing as gold coin collectors and are just looking to rip you off. You can get a silver locating device or a magnetic pole for finding loose coins in ditches, under cars, or in other hard-to-reach places. Or simply rely on your eyes to identify those gleaming metal circlets of potential wealth.

During the Renaissance, popes and nobility began collecting coins for their artistic and historical value, and the name "the hobby of kings" was born.

Why Is The Invicta Watch One Of The Most Popular Watches In The World?

The Invicta watch is an affordable range of luxurious watches. This make of Swiss watches is known for creating fine timepieces which are economically priced. It is one of the fastest growing watch companies of the world.

The word Invicta is Latin for invincible and the company was founded by Raphael Picard in Switzerland in 1837. They have been around for more than a century. Both manual and automatic watches were created by Invicta in exceptional designs and great elegance but offered for sale at very affordable prices.

In the early 70’s when the quartz revolution hit the watch market, the invicta suffered like all the other Swiss watches did. But the company did not die and reorganized itself in 1991 with the sole purpose of creating designer watches and making them available to the public at low rates.

The Invicta watches have high standards just like their expensive Swiss brothers, but are available at prices which are within a common man’s reach.

Some of the famous watches are Angel, Pro Diver and Elite. These lines have watches that share platforms with many big Swiss companies.

The Pro Diver is undoubtedly one of the more valued Invicta watches and finds it’s place in most watch collections. Even today the pro diver has maximum sales amongst the entire Invicta collection.

The Skeletonised movement watch which shows the entire skeleton of the watch has been most intriguing. Like their expensive counterparts these watches are made of high quality materials like anti reflective sapphire crystals and Swiss produced automatic as well as manual movements.

The Lupah Swiss Chronograph is one of the newer models. These watches have a very diverse collection but one thing is common to all its watches, they make a common man feel like royalty.

The invicta watches have a higher end too. They have created the 18 k gold dragon Lupah Automatic and also the 37-carat Pave which has 4,600 uncut diamonds. The subaqua NOMA which has a meteorite dial as well as the limited edition Ocean Ghost speak of their great watch making skills.

Invicta watches are made available not only for men and women but also in a range called baby Lupah. These watches have colorful straps and one can buy one watch and a variety of straps to go with it. Such economical yet fashionable ideas are the Invicta Forte.

Though the Invicta watches are low cost they do require some basic maintenances. There are certain guidelines to increase the life of your collection.

One must always show the watch to a licensed dealer if the watch needs fixing. The watch should be kept in a watch box that has cushions to prevent it from getting scratched. But most importantly one should consider investing in a watch winder so as to cut down on the crown wear and tear thus adding years to the watches life.

I believe it would be correct to say that a smart buyer who wants value for his money will definitely have in his collection an Invicta watch

Visiting A Glassware Studio

We’ve all heard of going to an art studio where artists display their pieces and offer them for sale. A glassware studio operates in much the same way – but on a larger scale; rows and rows of glassware – different designs, different years, and different countries of origin – on display for your consideration. It can be a dizzying experience; wandering around amidst glass of all colors, as the light reflects off their beauty. It can be an overwhelming experience to decide between all the pieces. But depending on your reason for visiting, there are ways in which to conduct your search.

First and foremost, some of the most popular visitors to a glassware studio are a newly engaged couple. For many couples who are planning their weddings, registering for gifts is part of the process as they make a myriad of choices for their home. Guests to the wedding – and wedding related events such as bridal showers – can access your gift registry and purchase you something that you have chosen to be in accordance with your taste. A glassware studio offers the opportunity to choose drinking glasses of all varieties – wine glasses (both red and white), champagne flutes, water glasses, even cordial or martini glasses. The list is endless – from your everyday juice glasses to your fine dining glassware; a glassware studio is a comprehensive source for all your glassware needs.

For those shopping for the bride and groom, the glassware studio where they are registered will provide you with a list of all the items they have chosen. But feel free to wander past the parameters. Beautiful glassware that they may not have necessarily chosen – serving bowls, vases, and decorative pieces – can be a unique and welcome surprise.

Look for a glassware studio right in your nearest department store; the choices will be varied and distinctive and you’ll often find the employees to be vastly knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Glassware can be a lasting and sentimental gift that any couple will be happy to display in their home and will bring a lifetime of joy to be passed down from generation to generation.

The Quilting Machine – To Use Or Not To Use

When we think of quilts, most of us automatically think of the homemade quilt; that which was lovingly and painstakingly constructed over many hours. Quilting is such a time honored skill that it continues to be passed down from generation to generation – a gift given from mothers to daughters. But the quilting machine has made its presence known, and more and more quilters turn to this faster, more convenient method of quilting.

In a day and age when machines of every variety play a significant role in our every day lives, it is unsurprising that the quilting machine has grown in popularity. After all, the beauty of handmade quilts is undeniable; but also undeniable is the time such a process takes – time that few who live in this busy working society can spare. The quilting machine – like all machines – has taken what was once a time-consuming, meticulous procedure and turned it into a convenient and accessible hobby that yields the same outcome – a beautiful and admired quilt.

Of course, aside from the convenience, the benefit of the quilting machine is consistency. Gone are the erratic stitches and misaligned blocks of fabric. Today’s quilters, with the use of a quilting machine, have infinitely more control over the quilting process. And, subsequently, what may have hindered those from giving quilting a try in the past, has been eradicated by modern convenience.

A quality quilting machine is a bit of an investment. But if you are committed to the art of quilting, it is well worth the price. You may find it best to find a quilting machine at a reputable fabric store. The knowledgeable employees that generally staff these kinds of stores will give you insight into the different features of various machines. Keep in mind that while you may be using a machine there are still materials that are required, such as quilting machine needles, measuring tape, quilting pins, and quality quilting shears. You may find the use of quilting templates to be most beneficial in this instance; you can easily trace a design from the template right onto your fabric with a fine point fabric pen. Then, you can cut the design from the fabric, and, using the quilting machine transfer the design onto your quilt.

Regardless of whether or not you decide to use a quilting machine or sew a quilt by hand, you can rest assured of one thing; while the journeys may be different, the result is the same – a beautiful, cherished quilt.

What’s At The Heart Of Divination

Divination is also referred to as fortune telling. Divination uses aspects of the supernatural to predict the future or give insight. There are many different forms of divination. Divination usually involves a ritual or other formal routine. This could involve the lighting of candles, chanting of incantations or burning of incense. Divination is a way to connect with the other side, which could be those who have passed away, spirits or holy beings.

Divination is a highly criticized practice. There are many people who believe that divination cannot be proven as real. They believe that since divination usually involves one person connecting with the other side that the person is simply scamming or faking the connection. Many skeptics believe that divination is merely tapping into the sub-conscious mind and not communicating with the other side at all. Still others believe that there is no connection at all and the person doing the divination is just saying whatever they believe people want to hear. Despite numerous attempts to prove critics wrong, there is still skeptics out there who will never believe in the supernatural abilities of those who practice divination.

Some of the more popular and best known forms of divination include the following:

Astrology- Using the positions of the planets, sun and moon in correspondence with time, date, location and the Zodiac to give insight into one’s life and future.

Tarot- The use of a 78 card deck that is laid out into spreads or patterns then read to look into one’s situation.

Palmistry- Reading the lines on ones hand to interpret their life path.

Rune Casting- The use of runes that are cast upon the ground or a cloth to tell a persons situation.

Channeling- Connecting with the other side, spirits, and delivering their messages.

Psychic/Intuition- Connecting with a spirit or other celestial being to deliver messages, can be used with other forms of divination.

Divination may be something that a person is born able to do. For others it is something to be learned. It is widely thought that every person has the ability to tap into the supernatural. It just takes time for some to learn how to do it.

Divination has been used for centuries. It is often looked at as evil or as something that is only done by those who do not believe in God. This is not true. Many religious activities often include divination style practices. Anything that brings a connection between a person and a celestial being, be it God, a Saint, an angel, is a form of divination.

Most divination is done in a proper setting. The area used for divination is only used for that purpose. Nothing else is done in that area. Many times there are alters or other things to honor the spirits that may be present. It is done in a manner that shows respect to those beings that are coming to help or send messages. For people that practice divination it is a very serious ritual.

Divination is something that requires great patience and dedication. It may take a person a long time in order to connect to a spirit and when they do it can tae even longer to understand the messages they may be sending. It is a process that should be done with the knowledge of how to do it properly. Many times people expect to see amazing things, like lights flickering, the person performing the divination to fall into a trance or something else spectacular. This is usually not how it happens, though. It is usually a rather peaceful process that happens almost naturally.

Psychic Readings A Guide To Help From A Higher Source

Psychic readings can be anything from a tarot reading to a rune casting to astrology. A psychic reading can also be done without any divination tools. Basically, a psychic reading is when the reader tells a person, called the querent, the answers to their questions. The psychic reader uses their intuition to give the querent details and information.

Choosing a psychic reader can be difficult. There are many people who fake having psychic abilities. They tell people what they want to hear or use other tactics to give the querent answers. One of the best ways to find a psychic reader is through referrals. When a person gets a referral from a friend or relative they can usually trust that the psychic is worth going to. For someone who does not know much about how psychic reading work it can be difficult to tell the fake ones from the real ones.

A big aspect of finding a good psychic reader is that the reader and the querent need to be able to establish a good connection. The psychic connection between the querent and the reader allows the reader to open up and receive messages to give the querent. Usually a reader will know right away if they can or can not connect. If a person gets a reader that says they cannot read for them, then this is usually the case. They are not being rude, they just know they can not help you because they can not establish the connection. As a querent, the best way to tell if there is a connection is based upon the gut feeling. A querent should feel comfortable and at ease with the reader. Any hesitation or uneasiness will throw off the reading.

Once a person finds a reader they need to be able to clear their mind and focus on the situation at hand. They should have a good idea of what they want to know before starting their reading. They should be clear about their feelings in a given situation. It helps because the reader can then connect to these thoughts and feelings in order to get the answers. Many times a reader will want to hold hands or have everyone close their eyes, this is mainly to help the querent stay focused. Sometimes the reader will try to set a calm and mellow mood by using candle light and burning incense.

During the reading the reader may use tools like tarot cards, runes or even a crystal ball. These tools are just an aid for the reader and can also be helpful to the querent. A querent who is even slightly skeptical can then se by the tools that the reader is not just saying things out of thin air. The tools serve as a guide and can help clarify messages the reader may be getting.

A psychic reader can help a querent, but they can not tell them with 100% certainty that something will or will not happen. No psychic reading is positive. The future is not written in stone and as such, nobody can tell anyone else their exact future. Psychic readers can tell a person what may happen based upon their current situation. Any changes in the querent situation and their future may be altered.

A psychic reader is like a guide to the psychic realm. Some people are more prone or find it easier to communicate with those who have passed over, angels or higher beings. These people, psychic readers, work to help others try to make the most of their lives and try to help them get clarity when needed in tough situations.

Breaking Down Numerology

Numerology is the use of numbers and number combinations in divination. Numerology is often used as part of psychic readings. Each number corresponds to a meaning. They also correspond to the letters of the alphabet. It is though these meanings and correspondences that numerology is interpreted and charts are made for divination.

The numbers used are zero through 10. Any number larger than 10 is broken down by adding the two digits of the number together to get a single digit number. The following explains the generally accepted meanings of the number zero through ten:

0- everything and nothing all at once
1- singular, individual
2- balance, pair
3- communication
4- creation
5- action
6- responsibility
7- the mind, thought
8- power
9- the end
10- begin again

The meanings of the numbers vary often according to each numerologist. However, in general the above meanings are a good representation of the number meanings that are most often used. Sometimes the numbers 11 and 22 are assigned special meaning as prime number that represent the most important and meaningful numbers in numerology.

The numbers also are related to the letters of the alphabet. For this numbers 1 through 26 are used. Usually in numerology reports a persons name is written out then labeled with number for each letter. The numbers are then added together and brought down to a digit between one and ten. For example:

Sue becomes the number 18/20/5

18 becomes 9
20 becomes 2
5 stays as 5
Then it is added: 9+2+5=16
The answer, 16, is reduced to a single digit of 7

This is the basis of translated words into numerology. It is an important part of the process, though and something every numerologist needs to know.

Numerology charts are often done for one person or can be made to compare two people, such as in a relationship. Numerology reports often tell about the inner workings of a person or relationship.

A numerologist has to be able to make the connection between letters and number, as well as be able to add and interpret the meanings behind the results of their work. Numerology reports are often long and take quite a bit of time to finish. Reports are often based upon the name and date of birth of a person. The name and date of birth are broken down into various equations that each mean something different.

A numerologist should only need the basic information, name and date of birth, to complete a natal numerology chart. For more complex charts they may need additional information. Relationship charts require the names of both individuals and their birth dates and may require the date of the anniversary, depending on the reading to be done.

Numerology requires a lot of skill to be able to remember all the corresponding details of numbers and letters. A numerologist also has to learn the different meanings of the numbers and the different formulas for coming up with the results of a reading. It can take some time to learn numerology, but it is not as difficult as it may seem. A good numerologist will be able to explain the process to their clients and be able to answer any questions they may have.

Numerology is a form of divination and can be used on a smaller scale with other forms of divination like tarot readings or rune casting. Numbers have always held special meanings and they can add depth to a tarot reading or rune casting. Many psychic readers associate numbers with their readings, as sometimes they may receive messages in the form of numbers.

How To Create Your Own T-shirt

Have you ever been out somewhere and someone’s t-shirt showcasing a witty line or funny image catches your eye and sense of humor? It is most likely happening more often because more and more people are not relying on shirt manufacturers to be clever, but they are applying their own ingenuity into making their own shirts. The possibilities are now limitless in making your self, your friends, and the rest of the world envious of your duds by engineering your own shirts. You don’t need many tools to accomplishing this fashion feat!

What You Will Need

- Software
- Artwork
- Transfer paper
- Printer
- Iron
- Hard surface
- Pillowcase
- T-shirt

There are kits that you can buy that supply almost all of the provisions you will need. Here are some tips to remember during the process.

Print a Preview

Always print a preview copy before printing it on the transfer paper. Do this to make sure that colors print correctly, the image does not delve into the printer’s ‘no print zone,’ and to see a life-sized version of the image.

Flip the Image

You have to flip the image, especially if you have text in the design. The text should be backwards on screen or on the print out.

Use the Right Side of the Paper

The transfer paper has stripes on the non-print side. Put the paper in the printer so that it prints on the clear white side.

White Does Not Print

Consider the background color when selecting the color of text or the color of an image. For instance, white does not print, you will just get an outline of the desired image, but not the complete image.

Test Your Design of Scrap Fabric

Wasting the transfer paper is bad, but wasting a t-shirt is worse. Some fabrics will take to the image more readily than others, so keep this in mind.

Make it HOT

It is easy to get anxious during the process, so be sure to set the iron on the hottest setting without producing steam. It will take a great amount of heat to produce the image, so be sure to keep the iron on for a while and evenly cover the design onto the fabric. Peel the paper while it is still hot.

Use a Hard Surface

A harder surface will retain heat better, so make sure that you are using the hardest surface you can find in the process. Ironing boards are not the best surfaces to use for this particular process.

Arranging Your Scrapbooking Photographs- An Important First Step

Whether you keep your photographs stored online or get them printed at the local drugstore—the first step to being able to create a really memorable scrapbook is to get your pictures and memorabilia organized.

While organizing your photographs may seem like a time-consuming and cumbersome part of your scrapbooking process, it really will save you a lot of time later and will also help you to avoid making those mistakes that can’t be easily fixed, such as forgetting to initially include a particular and important picture in your scrapbook.

Computer Storage:

More and more scrapbookers these days are deciding to keep their photographs on their own personal computer or on an online picture storage site. This is a terrific option for many of us who are creating digital scrapbooks and who don’t have the necessary space to hold the many printed photographs that are waiting to be used in a scrapbook. For these reasons, digital image organization is usually the easiest and fastest way to keep your pictures in good order.

When using digital photographs, you can store them in organized folders on your computer or you may choose to upload them to one of the popular websites that host picture sharing online. Either way, you will have the option to create multiple folders. This is the preferred method versus dumping dozens or hundreds of picture uploads into one giant folder.

You will also find that it is simpler to create folders according to your scrapbook album's theme. For instance, if you are creating a scrapbook with events in a chronological order, you may name your folders “The Holidays 2006” or “Spring, 2007.”

If you like to take a lot of photographs, you might try grouping them according to a specific event with folder names such as “Laurie’s 6th Birthday Party.”

If your album is not just chronological, however, you’ll most likely find it helpful to sort your digital images in a different way, perhaps according to how you will eventually use them in a scrapbook.

Printed Picture Storage:

For those of us that are not so computer savvy, there is nothing wrong or old-fashioned about resisting the computer trend altogether and continuing to get actual print copies of your favorite photographs. Often, though, it’s difficult to find the time to complete scrapbook pages immediately after you get the copies made. In these instances, it is important to remember to safely store your prints away from heat and light until you can begin to create your scrapbooking pages.

There are many available storage systems on the market today that will help to keep your photographs clean and protect them from acid. Remember to look for scrapbooking products that are specifically made for photograph storage as these important organizational tools will always be acid free.

One of the quickest and most convenient photograph storage methods is simply to use a regular photo album (there are many safe albums available for purchase, but, again, you want to make sure they are lignin and acid free before you purchase them). It's true that sliding your pictures into a regular photo album slot is not nearly as attractive as creating scrapbook pages, but this way you can still share your photographs with guests in a presentable way until you have time to work on creating your scrapbook pages.

Again, you may find that it will probably be best for you to organize your photographs according to the theme of your scrapbook album. With print pictures though, instead of creating virtual folders, you will use other physical tools to separate your photographs and keep them organized. Just like when you are using the computer folders, you will want to keep these drawers, files, compartments, etc. clearly labeled so that you can quickly find what you need when you have the time to work on your scrapbook.

The key to scrapbook photograph organization is time. Devoting a few minutes at the start of your project to arranging your photographs in the proper order will make your scrapbooking time much more efficient and enjoyable.

Modern Wall Clocks - On The Cutting Edge

Modern wall clocks have gained in popularity over the years and have become an essential part of most homes, schools, and offices. Throughout history, unique wall clocks have been an oddity and were often the center of attention in any room’s décor. Today’s modern wall clocks are designed to fit into almost any decorating style, made to blend seamlessly with the more traditional wood or metal look.

As opposed to the more traditional antique wall clocks, which added a touch of elegance to any room, many modern wall clocks are focused on functionality. In this day and age of high tech gadgets, time accuracy and global features are important to not only businesses, but many households as well.

Modern Wall Clocks Have Gone Atomic

As you may have heard, the atomic wall clock is one of the latest technological advancements in time measurement. These clocks can measure time in milli-seconds and are self-correcting. They are sometimes referred to as radio controlled clocks.

An atomic clock wall model has an internal mechanism that takes advantage of radio frequencies to synchronize its current time and date with the U.S. Atomic Clock. What is the U.S. Atomic Clock you might ask? Well, it is a radio controlled clock operated and maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Ft. Collins, Colorado.

The atomic wall clock has a small antenna incorporated into it that receives a radio signal from Ft. Collins, Colorado. This signal relays the time and date, to the millisecond, to your atomic clock. So, once your clock has been initially set to the time zone at your location, your radio controlled clock will be automatically updated from the U.S. Atomic Clock. What is even more amazing is that your clock will even adjust itself automatically for daylight savings time (DST).

Go Global With a World Wall Clock

Never heard of a world clock? Well, a world wall clock measures and displays time from around the globe. The typical world wall clock can determine the time for a specific location through a process of dividing the globe into time zones. Each group of states or countries will correspond to a different time zone, allowing for consistency of daylight hours as the earth circles the sun. World wall clocks have grown in importance as the Internet and modern communication devices have “shrunken” the globe. In today’s hectic business world, it is important for a business person to consider time zones, as their clients and customers can literally be halfway around the globe. For the common household, a world clock wall model allows for easy access to world times. This can be a great benefit if, like so many families today, relatives or friends live in foreign countries and contact times are important.

A modern wall clock, whether it is an atomic wall clock or world wall clock, is the perfect addition to your home or office. If you can afford a cut-above model, it will provide an additional touch of glamour and a sense of sophistication to the interior of your home or office. So, why not join the high-tech crowd today with your own state-of-the-art modern wall clock?

Locations For Metal Detecting Finds

Old and rare toys and games are a particular collector’s favorite, as are newer ones that are connected with popular films and TV series. The latter need to be in really good condition. 20 years ago, as a kid in his mid-teens, my cousin was buying Star Wars figures and keeping them sealed in their packets. They are now worth up to 250 dollars each!

While taking a creative writing course in college, my instructor introduced me to an invaluable tool--a Writer's Treasure Chest. This tool is easy and fun to make and will come in handy time and again throughout your writing life.

When you think of treasure hunting, maybe gold coins and precious stones come to mind, but it doesn't end there. You can start in your own attic to see what treasures you find. Then you can check out some of the more unusual ways to go treasure hunting. However I also have friends or have found items running into hundreds of thousands of pounds. I suppose at the end of the day there is an element of luck. I'm sure that those who Pan Gold and do Wreck Hunting or Bottle Digging will say exactly the same.

When you are very clear about what you want, you attract the energy and open yourself to opportunities you wouldn’t have been receptive to before.

Promising Locations for Metal Detecting Finds

If you're at a loss on where to start searching for buried treasures, get your metal detectors and flashlights ready and blinking because we have several suggestions in mind for you:

National Forests - It's a good place to start exploring because most rangers are courteous and quite willing to help metal detecting aficionados like you. You're also allowed to own any finds you detect as long as it's less than 50 years old, file a claim, and even prospect for gold.

Indian Reservation - These are very promising locations, indeed, but you have to be Cheyenne to legally search in Cheyenne land and so forth. If you don't look Indian, you'd better find someone who is.

Backyards - Yes, just your very own backyard could easily do, especially if it's OLD land. You can also ask your neighbors' and friends' permissions if they're willing to let you delve into their backyards. Promise them a share of your finds if that will help. Lastly, it's always best to procure written consent to avoid future complications.

Beaches - With the sun, the breeze, and the waves doing their things, it's no wonder that beach lovers are so caught up with nature's beauty that they tend to misplace and lose some of their valuables.

Photo Challenge Treasure Hunt in Sussex is a wonderful team building exercise that offers ultimate scope to explore and rediscover famous places of Sussex and its surroundings.

Down in that treasure chest also lurks some of your lost potential from childhood, the things you could have done; the ways you could have developed if only things had been different.

There are portable walk-through metal detectors that can be easily installed and stored away. They are compact and lightweight and usually require no initial calibration. Prices of walk-through metal detectors range from $3000 to $6000 depending upon the brand and features provided. The general idea is to play treasure hunt on whatever scale you feel the recipient can manage...E.g. Young children from 4 to 10 would probably be restricted to the house and garden. Teenagers may like to travel to local malls or shops..for adults unless you have a rocket to play with ..the world is big enough!!

Hidden in a warehouse in the small town where I used to live, was a mountain of old boxes. It was the leftover inventory of a wooden clock factory that had gone out of business. The owner of the clocks had let them sit there for at least ten years. Finally someone explained to him how he could sell them on Ebay, and he realized the treasure he was sitting on.

Playgrounds - Be sure to search specifically on grassy or shady areas as these are the places that people mostly frequent, and consequently, lose things. Finding a toy isn't that bad if it happens to be a charming limited edition, eh?

Fields - It's best to head out for the fields after a heavy downpour because you're more likely to discover hidden riches at these times. Don't forget to wear proper rain gear or you'll be too sick afterwards to enjoy your finds!

Riverbanks - Drop by at your local library and research for riverbanks that were once the site for ferry launchings or important social events. These particular spots are more likely to yield delightful finds than other places.

Cemeteries - Most cemeteries are built on very old lands. If your metal detector happens to indicate prospective finds under the grave, however, do respect the dead, and move on to another path.

A Word of Warning

Wherever you choose to rummage around for long-forgotten and long-lost booty, make sure that you have legal permission to do so at that place. Ask around if authorization, a license, or any legal document is required before you can hunt to all your heart's content.

Derbyshire, with its scenic beauty and perfect backdrop for exciting outdoor activities looks like the best place for planning your corporate events.

However, there is a simple tool that anyone can make that will make war recovery easier. simply taken old 5 gal. drywall bucket and cut out the bottom. also remove the handle as it is metal and may interfere.

When looking for a find, what should you look for? If you can already imagine the object taking on a new life as something else, thats great.

Recognizing that your own treasure chest of positive memories and capacities are more precious to you than any winnings is what THE ENCHANTED SELF is all about. When we begin to acknowledge that we ourselves are our own messengers of enchantment, then we can begin to brighten our lives and the lives around us. Find out more about metal detectors at metal detector info site.

Metal detecting is an exciting, adventurous, and fun way of finding valuables or items of sentimental value to us. Using the metal detector in places such as parks, beaches, woods, playgrounds, fields, riverbanks, old cellars and graveyards, even on our own backyards is a good way of bonding with families, friends, and colleagues. It is a fascinating hobby, too.

The Coffee Mug - Just A Cup Or A Statement?

Just one day after the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears made it to Super Bowl XLI, a coffee mug featuring the teams appeared on an Internet auction site.

A coffee mug can come in every color, in different shapes and covered in clever statements, advertisements or promotions such as the one for Super Bowl XLI.

A coffee mug's function is to hold a hot beverage, such as coffee or tea. Usually made of ceramic, a coffee mug will have a handle to protect your hands from the heat radiating from the beverage. But walk through any large office and you will see more than just a coffee mug with a handle.

A coffee mug may have a funny statement such as "I don't do mornings" or "Ask me after I've had my morning coffee."

A coffee mug may be in the shape of an animated character. A Disney-themed coffee mug is a popular item on Internet auction sites.

The shape of a coffee mug may reflect your hobby. A popular coffee mug among men is shaped in the form of a golf bag. Another popular coffee mug is shaped like a fish.

A coffee mug is a popular gift at Christmas and on special occasions. A coffee mug may be part of a gift set. These gift sets may also include gourmet coffees inside the coffee mug.

Advertisers have also recognized the value of having their product name or service printed on a coffee mug. Most specialty advertising firms will offer a coffee mug along with T-shirts, pens and hats. Coffee mugs have advertised everything from restaurants, bars, schools, non-profit agencies and employment services to name a few.

The coffee mug has also played role in politics as many candidates will hand out as many coffee mugs as they will flyers or T-shirts while they are campaigning for office.

A coffee mug that features vintage advertising such as the Campbell Soup coffee mugs sell well on Internet auction sites. That is because many people collect coffee mugs around a certain theme, whether it is a soup company or animated character.

A family's fine china collection almost always includes a coffee mug. The coffee mug will have the china pattern imprinted on the mug. This coffee mug is often a smaller cup than those purchased in gift sets. A coffee mug designed with a fine china pattern is also a collector's item.

You can find a coffee mug at nearly every souvenir shop. Some of these coffee mugs will have a person's name screen-printed onto the cup. Another coffee mug may state the name of the city or state where the mug was purchased. Many people collect coffee mugs from the places they have visited.

Many people need a coffee mug that is less personal and more practical. A travel mug is well-insulated, keeping beverages warm for hours. This type of coffee mug will have a tightly-fitting cap with an opening on top. Most travel mugs fit into a vehicle cup-holder.

It is up to you to decide if you want a practical or personal coffee mug.
