Ford Aims To Have More Products With Less Workers

It is not a secret anymore. The Ford Motor Company that used to be part of the Big Three is now suffering from a loss of finances. But the company is set on making a comeback and bringing back the funds that were lost. Currently, they are now planning on doing a restructuring in their company. Rumors have it that the company would be announcing the final plans for the restructuring come this September. But sources say that Ford is set on creating more products like Ford Fiesta parts but with fewer workers.

Sources coming straight from the company are claiming that this auto manufacturer from Dearborn is planning on offering its employees who are paid by the hour a buyout package. Rumors also have it that perhaps even white collar employees would also be offered such a package. This would be done so as to quickly move towards their aim at having lesser workers. On this situation, Dr. David Cole has an analysis, “Ford has more younger workers under age 40 than GM had, and it’s tough for them to accept a buyout at that age.” Dr. Cole is the executive director for the Center for Automotive Research which is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. So perhaps it is going to be quite a difficult situation indeed for Ford.

If the rumors that the Ford Company would be cutting down twenty five per cent of its workers who are billed hourly and who are billed per month, then it would translate to around 30,000 people going to be jobless. And all these would be happening in the next twelve months. Mark Fields, the president of Ford for operations in the North and South America, states, “Everything we are doing to fix the company has to be done much faster than we originally planned.”

Aside from that, experts in the industry are also agreeing that the company has far too many products in the market which are no longer the kind of things that the market wants. Many have gone out of fashion like several of the company’s pick up trucks and large sport utility vehicles. If the company would be able to trim down their vehicle range and find that vehicle that would send the money back to the company, it would not be surprising if the company starts to get back on its feet.

Online Used Car Auctions Versus Live Used Car Auctions

Are you interested in buying a used car? If you are, have you ever thought about buying a used car from an auto auction? Buying a used car through an auto auction, which is also commonly referred to as a used car auction, is a great way to find a large selection of quality, reliable, yet affordable used cars for sale.

When it comes to buying a used car from a used car auction, you will find that you have a number of different options. Two of your most common options include attending a live used car auction or participating in an online used car auction. If this is your first time attempting to buy a used car from an auto auction, you may be unsure as to which type of used car auction you should choose. When it comes to making a decision, it is best if you first take the time to familiarize yourself with both online auto auctions and live auto auctions.

As you likely already know, online used car auctions are auto auctions that take place over the internet. These auctions, themselves, come in a number of different formats. For instance, it is possible to buy a used car from an online auction website. Over the past few years, the popularity of online auction websites has skyrocketed. That is what has led many car owners to list their used cars for sale online. The only downside to doing so is that you honestly know nothing about the car seller. It can be difficult, if not completely impossible, to tell if they even have the for sale car in their possession. Also, online auction websites allow car owners from all across the country sell cars online. While this does give you a larger selection of cars to choose from, it can make the delivery costly.

Another type of online auto auction that you should be able to find online is auto auctions that are operated by traditional auction houses or companies. Due to the popularity of the internet, a large number of auction owners are rethinking the way that they do business. Many are now starting to replace their live auctions with online auctions and many are even deciding to do both. When an auction house or company decides to have an online used car auction, they often do so right on their own webpage. What is nice about participating in this type of auction is that you should be able to find a local auction company. This would make the delivery of the vehicle in question easier and it may give you the opportunity to stop by and examine or inspect the vehicle that you would be interested in bidding on.

While online auto auctions do sound appealing, mostly because of their convenience, there is nothing like attending a real, live auto auction. In fact, it is often recommended that those who want to buy a used car from a used car auction attend a live one. Live auto auctions are nice as you are able to choose which auctions you would like to attend. This means that if you live in a specific area, like the Chicago area, you can choose to attend a local used car auction, instead of one that is located too far away. You also have the option of choosing to attend a free used car auction or one that requires the payment of an admission fee; the decision is yours to make.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of buying a used car from a live used car auction is the fact that you are able to see the car for yourself. In fact, you can often do more than just see the car. Many used car auction houses or companies have scheduled inspection sessions. These sessions are where you are able to inspect each used car that you may be interested in buying, inside and out.

Of course, the decision as to whether you would like to buy a used car from a live used car auction or an online used car auction is yours to make, but you should know that many car owners report success when buying from a live auto auction. For starters, you may want to check out the live used car auctions hosted by North Shore Auto Auction. Should you not find what you are looking for, you can then continue to examine your other options; options that may include online used car auctions.

10 Top Tips For Dealing With Car Dealers In West Virginia

Most people consider dealing with a car dealer as a stressful experience – but it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, you can easily turn things in your favor, no matter if you are dealing with a West Virginia car dealer or a dealer from another state. One of the most important things that you have to do before going out to purchase a new or used car is to do your research – here are a few top tips that you should keep in mind when seeing a West Virginia car dealer:

1. Listen to the car dealer, but don’t be embarrassed to walk out. The dealer is there to present you with different offers and help you out with purchasing your car, but this doesn’t represent any form of commitment on your part.

2. Talking over the phone before you actually go to the West Virginia car dealer can be a great idea. While your goal is to get the best price for your car, you should also save some time by doing some pre-buying research in car prices and offers on the phone.

3. Start your shopping by considering the factory invoice price as the basis of your research. Dealers pay the same price for the factory products, so use that as a comparison method.

4. However, remember that some West Virginia car dealers may get incentives from the car manufacturer, so it’s often possible to get prices that are even lower than the regular factory price.

5. Do not negotiate monthly payments – negotiate prices first. The base price of the vehicle should be your main concern – the lower it is the less interest you will have to pay.

6. Make sure you know what you are paying for. You should be prepared to pay for license or destination charges, as well as the registration taxes. However, the car dealer should specify if there are any other taxes involved (promotion taxes, floor charges or sales charges).

7. Excitement can be negative if you are not well documented first. Don’t let the dealer get you too worked up about a certain car model, unless you have a lot of information on the vehicle.

8. The difference between invoice price and sticker price is in the 10 to 20 percent margin. This will also affect the final price of the vehicle, so make sure to find a West Virginia car dealer with very low commissions.

9. When buying a new car, make sure you don’t purchase options that you don’t need. They may all look attractive in the showroom, but are they really something you need?

10. It’s advisable to have at least two vehicle models in mind when purchasing a new car. You might have a favorite model and find out that you can get an excellent deal on your “plan B” car – this can offer you the same quality for a lot less money.

Toyota Too Tough

I’ve got the greatest car in the world. My 1982 Toyota Celica. You talk about your great cars. How great?

Let me give you an example. The clutch started to slip (it‘s a stick shift). But I could still drive the car. I drove that car for another year-and-a-half before the clutch finally went out.

Try that with an American make.

This car has 350,000 miles on it, and is still going. In an age of selfish, shallow, throw-away material possession punks, this car is as tough as nails.

The power steering started to leak under the car. I was told fixing the leak would cost more than the car was worth. It’s all banged up and rusted. The mechanic told me to just keep pouring more power steering fluid in. I did this for awhile, but the leak got worse. Then the steering went tough. But I can still steer the car.

I went back to the mechanic and he said, “If your power steering unit is separate, not hooked up to anything else, we can just unhook the rubber belt. You can still drive the car. End of leak. End of problem.

He unhooked it. Sure enough, the car now steers like an old truck. But now I’m used to it steering that way. And it didn’t cost me a dime.

Don’t you love a car that when it has a problem, you just unhook the problem. The car is getting simpler. Less things to go wrong.

This car was made before all that computerized crap. You can still work on the car. Even me. I’m a dyslexic jerk when it comes to anything mechanical. I can’t even screw a screw into a nut without hurting myself. But I can change the spark plugs on this car for a cheapo do-it-yourself tune up.

I love this Toyota, the toughest car ever made. This car to me is like Trigger was to Roy Rogers.

I was gassing up at the gas station. The guy next to me said, “pardon me. But did you know your car is rusting out? There’s a hole there."

“Yeah,” I said. “I know.”

“I envy you,” he said. “That you don’t care.”

I later put some tape over the hole.

I should be ashamed of this car, the way it looks. I’m not. Let me explain. We live in a phony, false society where showing off is big time. Thus, you buy a car on credit with money you don’t have and make payments to a bank on the car, and preen and strut around like you own the car, when it’s all a big lie. You feel good about yourself because you own a car that you don’t own. The bank owns it.

Somebody runs into your car and dents it. And you already start thinking about a new car even though you haven’t paid for the first car.

Every five years, you have to buy a car, if you’re like everybody else.

I DON’T HAVE TO. MY CAR WAS PAID FOR BACK IN 1985.

Understand? It’s like I’m a rebel against the system. Everybody else does it (buys a car), but not me. It’s like I’m getting away with not paying my taxes.

People say they don’t like old things. But they really do. Old things give a sense of permanence, solidity. Toughness and age should count for something. It does. A woman who I had not seen in five years was talking to a friend over the phone, and asked, “is he still driving the same car?”

I’m famous because of my Toyota.

When the plastic door knob broke on the outside, I just hooked up a rope around the window to the latch on the inside. I come to the car, pull on the rope, and the door opens. Easy.

My Toyota also dispenses justice. I go 55 mph in the slow lane on the freeway. That means I hold up speeders, especially ignorant dope smoking truckers named Sparky who are mad at the world and have Confederate flags on their windows.

I love this Toyota. At one time, all four red warning lights were on, brakes, radiator, transmission, something else…and the car sailed along anyway.

Another time, the alternator went out, and I continued up the freeway for forty miles. The car stalled as I pulled into the parking lot of the repair garage. It was easily fixed. The woman receptionist in the repair shop was astonished and said, "we never see these cars in here."

The car had gone five years without a repair.

I want to be a spokesman for Toyota. I think they should put my car and I on display. Title it, The Car Too Tough to Die.

Understanding Your Car’s Exhaust System

Vehicles nowadays are equipped with advanced features compared to other models developed years ago. Like the human body, vehicles are also composed of different systems. These automotive systems include the electrical system, engine system, electrical system, steering and suspension, and the exhaust system. All of these components perform different roles that enable an automobile to function properly.

One of the substantial components of a certain vehicle is the exhaust system. Exhaust systems transmit burnt gases coming from the internal combustion engine to the exhaust pipe. Today, most of the modern vehicle’s exhaust system is designed to make the gases flow through a catalytic converter reducing the air pollution. A device called the muffler is also utilized to minimize the noise produced by exhaust system. Like the other automotive system, the exhaust system also contains several components.

One of the components of the exhaust system is the manifold or header. The main purpose of the manifold is to gather the burnt gases from multiple cylinders in the internal combustion engine and place it into a single pipe. Header is an alternative name for manifold and these are especially designed to enhance the performance.

Header-back is the portion of the exhaust system that allows gases to flow from the outlet of the header to the exhaust pipe. Turbo-back is the part of the exhaust system that is located between the outlet of the turbocharger and the exhaust pipe. Some of the exhaust systems eliminate catalytic converters because the turbo-back performs the same function as the catalytic converter. The last component of the exhaust system is the catback. Catbacks are also refereed as axle back, which is the part of the exhaust system that is located in between the exhaust pipe and the outlet of the catalytic converter. The catback also includes the muffler and the whole length of the exhaust pipe.

There are lot of exhaust systems available in the market today like the Jaguar XKR exhaust system.

Ipod Car Accessories, Take Your Tunes For A Ride

Now that you have an iPod that is fully loaded with your favorite music you can take it with you where ever you go. That is the beauty of an iPod small and very potable. With an iPod you can listen to your tunes while working out at the gym, working in the yard, or taking a walk.

How about listening to your iPod in the car? Listening to your iPod while driving using a head set can lead to a dangerous situation. With your favorite song cranked up you will not be able to hear anything around you.

Are there iPod car accessories that will allow you to safely listen to your tunes in your car? Yes there are, two such iPod car accessories are the car mount and the FM transmitter and car dock.

Car Mount

An iPod car mount is an adjustable iPod holder that firmly attaches to the louvers of the vents located on the dashboard. This holder is easily removed which allows for the user to reposition the device. In addition, because of the mobility that this device offers, this iPod car accessory can be transferred to other vehicles. Also, because the device is attached to the vent, there is no need for installation tools or damage to be done to the interior of the vehicle.

In addition to being easy to use, minimize the distraction element for the driver. The iPod car mount will securely hold the iPod and prevent the device from falling. Also, the iPod display will be close to eye level which will aid the user in viewing the screen.

Some of the new high end cars now offer a built in car dock for your iPod. The car dock is integrated with the car’s audio system so that when an iPod is docked it will play the songs from the iPod. What if I don’t own a car that has an integrated iPod dock? Not a problem, consider the FM transmitter and car dock.

FM Transmitter and Car Dock

The FM transmitter car dock plugs into the car’s cigarette lighter. The car dock has a slot that fits into the iPod’s data connector. While connected the car dock will charge the iPod. The car dock mounts on your dashboard or center console. The car dock holds your iPod securely in place so that the iPod will not slide across the seat when making a sharp turn.

The car dock also connects to the iPod’s headphone jack. The dock contains a mini FM transmitter. The FM transmitter can be adjusted as to which ‘station’ it will broadcast on. Before you head out on your trip, find an empty FM station on your radio and then adjust the FM transmitter to broadcast on that frequency. Tune your car radio to the same frequency and you are now able to listen to your tunes that are stored on your iPod.

What good is having an iPod if you cannot listen to your music whenever and where ever you go? With these iPod car accessories you can safely listen to your music while driving in your car.

Your ATV Tire Choices

There are lots and lots of choices out there when it comes to your ATV tires. Your choice will depend on how you plan to use your ATV. Whether you plan on taking your ATV in the mud, taking on some trails, or cruising around a field, there is a tire for you.

We are all after a good deal, and while deals can be found on ATV tires, you will want to avoid buying used tires if you can. Used tires should not be used for everyday use, because once the tread is worn down or the rubber starts to wear down the tires are no longer safe. It is hard to find good quality used tires, although if you do find some, it wouldn’t hurt to have them around for emergencies.

How do you know when it is time to replace your ATV tires? How often you need to replace your tires will depend on how often you use your ATV and how well you care for your tires. In general, you will need to replace the tires when you can no longer see the pattern on the tires, in other words, the tread is gone. You will want to replace the tires also if you can see the rubber on the tires starting to wear from age.

Proper care of your ATV tires can increase their useable life. Make sure that the tires are inflated properly – according to the manufacturer’s standards. If the tires are under-inflated, the ATVs turns will be sluggish. Some adventurers will over-inflate their tires to try and get better performance on trails. This can lead to faster tire wear and an increased chance that the tires will rupture.

You can purchase ATV tires at a local dealer or on the Internet. If you are new to ATVs your best bet is to let a local dealer change the tires for you. When choosing new tires there are some things you should consider. Know what tire was made for your ATV.

The tire that the manufacturer chose was chosen for a reason. That is the tire that is probably going to give you the best performance. However, if you typically use your ATV in extreme conditions like mud, then mudding tires may serve you better. You can also choose different tire sizes, treads, and shapes. ATV tires come in round or flat. Your choice will depend on whether you use your ATV for sport (flat tires) or utility (round tires).

After you have your new tires, you need to dispose of your ATVs old tires responsibly. They should not be thrown out. The tires have to be recycled or disposed of properly. You can find a local recycling company to dispose of them for you, or you can let the ATV dealer handle the disposal of the old tires for you.

Now that you have a basic idea of how to choose and care for your tires you are one step closer to enjoying your ATV. With a lot of care and routine maintenance, your ATV tires will serve you well!

The Pros And Cons Of Motorcycle Stunt

The person offering the highest bid at closing of auction receives the right to purchase the products at the bid price. The winner of the bid is normally legally bound to buy the item auctioned. In recent times auctions have been conducted online.

If you’ve budgeted for possible out-of-pocket expenses in case of a car accident, you might want to consider increasing your insurance deductible to $500. This will lower the cost of your insurance.

Taking a course of lessons will give you the chance to be accepted by an insurance company for your first Insurance policy. In fact most companies will insist on a minimum number of lessons completed by a recognised school, before a son or daughter will be admitted onto a Parent’s policy.

The pros and cons of motorcycle stunt

Motorcycle riders and fans all over the world are always on the lookout for motorcycle stunts that will keep them hooked to their seats or on any stable ground from where they are watching. The truth is that fans all over the world live for motorcycle stunts.

The word stunt is usually associated with action scenes or dangerous movements made by any person either on stage, on television or movies and even live performances. The common denominator is that a stunt involves risk to the performer or the person doing the stunt.

Some stunts are done by bare hands such as jumping on top of a building while some stunts are done using vehicles or motorcycles. Motorcycle lovers flock to motorcycle shows and exhibitions because of the stunts that the riders do no matter how dangerous.

Motorcycle stunts are more dangerous because the rider only has two wheels to support him and there is always the danger of his head being heavily injured despite the use of helmets and padding.

Any stunt for that matter requires prior planning as to the safety of the performer as well as the audience. There are stunts that are done to shock the performers without looking into the possible harm that may be caused to all the people involved in the stunt.

Step forward to 2005, and the current year model is a nice departure from earlier years. The 2005 Ford Focus has improved as it has aged; let’s examine what is helping the car to be a proven competitor in the crowded small vehicle segment:

When changing provider, Car Insurance companies will usually ask you to prove your No Claims Bonus in the form of a renewal notice or a letter from your current Car Insurance company. If you have several years of No Claims Bonus but then make a claim, the Car Insurance company will usually apply it's rules of how much to knock back your No Claims Bonus Years

After you have finished filling up your tank, you should twist the gas pump nozzle a full 180 degrees. This will drain a bit more gas into your tank, sometimes up to an entire half cup. If you don't do this, the extra gas would just be a bonus to the next gas customer.

In the first place, motorcycle stunts should only be done by riders who are already considered experts in their field. Novices in the world or motorcycle riding and racing shouldn't be allowed to do stunts that would endanger their safety and even their lives. Even experienced stuntmen should ask themselves whether or not doing the stunt is worth the danger posed to them. Some do stunts for enjoyment, others for fame and glory while some do it for money. Others simply do it for the adrenaline.

Every motorcycle stunt should follow a plan or a script which should be implemented to the letter to minimize the risks on the safety of the performer and the audience.

Motorcycle riders should be honest with themselves and evaluate their capabilities. They should be responsible enough to know the risks involved in doing the stunts. Everyone has their own limits and they shouldn't push themselves too hard to do motorcycle stunts that are beyond their capabilities.

Riders are a wild bunch and they will always go for broke. It may be the excitement that gives them the energy and the resoluteness to do dangerous motorcycle stunts. Whatever the reason is, they should always be ready to face the consequences of such acts. More motorcycle products at Salehoo, all at wholesale prices. See my salehoo review.

Gas prices are getting more and more ridiculous. And it’s going to keep increasing with no limit in sight! For the new car owners out there, do you know that a gallon of unleaded gasoline used to cost only $1.25?

Being a full hybrid, the Mercury Mariner employs both series- and parallel-hybrid characteristics. The gasoline engine shuts down to conserve fuel during coasting, at stoplights, and at low speeds.

The cost of your policy is directly related to this amount. Many people, particularly those who have had their insurance policy for a long time, have never considered whether they ought to vary their deductible. If you have a good driving record and are prepared to increase the risk of paying a larger amount in the event of a (hopefully unlikely) claim you can save money by increasing your deductible.

Defensive Driving Courses - Things To Consider

Motor vehicle accidents are still the leading cause of death in the United States. Every year road traffic accidents cost the American economy millions of dollars.

So if you want to avoid becoming part of these statistics it's important to learn the secrets of defensive driving. Learning how to read the road and anticipate the hazards that you may face will allow you to cope with any driving situation that develops. It will help you to become a safer driver and protect your own life and those of your passengers and fellow motorists.

Defensive driving instruction is provided by approved instructors and authorised training companies. Their aim is help everyone attain their peak driving potential through raising awareness of various issues including; defensive driving techniques, anticipation, alertness, safety equipment, driving hazards, regulations, substance abuse, assessment of driving behaviour, safety checks, commentary driving etc.

The internet is a powerful resource to help find the best defensive driving courses for your circumstances. But before you decide which defensive driving course to take, there are a number of things to consider.

1) The Type Of Course

One of the first things to consider is the type of defensive driving course that you intend to take. Broadly speaking, there are four main types of driving course. First, there is the traditional classroom based course. This is still the most popular option, although thanks to modern technology, it is rapidly being overtaken by the second and third options, online classes and correspondence courses. Finally, there is the practical option, where you and an instructor take to the roads for some real life driving experience.

2) The Reason For Taking The Course

The next thing to consider is your motivation for taking a defensive driving course. Ideally, you should take one of these courses in order to improve your driving skills and increase your safety on the road. However, the most common reason for taking a defensive driving course is because the court has ordered it, either to discharge a ticket for a road traffic violation, or to avoid a fine or jail time. But whatever the reason, it's important to undertake these courses because you want to become a better driver. If you don't approach these courses with the right attitude, you'll be wasting your time and potentially risking your life.

3) The Cost Of The Course

Cost can be another major factor when deciding which type of course to take. The most expensive options are the traditional classroom courses and the in car courses. But these have the great advantage that you have an expert instructor who is available to answer your questions. On the other hand, both online courses and correspondence courses are less expensive and they allow you to work at your own pace, but they don't provide one to one contact with a qualified instructor.

4) The Financial Benefits Of The Course

The opportunity to save money is also another main consideration in favor of learning to drive defensively. Not only will it allow you to avoid fines or traffic tickets and reduce the wear and tear on your vehicle, it can also reduce the cost of your car insurance. Most insurance companies will cut your premium by up to 10% in return for successfully completing a defensive driving course. So in most cases, the cost of the driving course will be recouped by other savings over the long run.

5) The Length Of The Course

Time is another major factor associated with the type of course taken. Traditional classroom based courses might take two or three hours a week spread out over two or three weeks.
