Make Money On Ebay

If you do not have a website, one of the easiest and most profitable ways to make money online is with eBay. It is the largest online auction site, drawing millions of people every day. It is the first place most people check out when they are looking for items, both new and used.

You can sell almost anything on eBay from small inexpensive 99-cent items to cars, boats, real estate, and everything in between. By placing your item on eBay, you are placing it in front of millions of prospective buyers.

There are many ways to make money on eBay. I started out as a seller by trying to get rid of leftover items from a garage sale. I listed some books, clothes, and toys. I made a very small profit on the toys, a reasonable profit on the clothes, and a very nice profit on the books. That’s all it took for me to get hooked on eBay.

From that day forward, my goal was to make money by finding as many bargains as possible and selling them for a profit on eBay. I had always loved garage sales but now I had an additional reason for seeking out bargains.

I armed myself with as much knowledge as I could find by using eBay tools to search out certain items and learn what they sold for. I also learned how to determine the value of those items by a lot of trial and error. I only worked with items that I was reasonably familiar with and felt comfortable trying to sell.

Once I felt confident enough to start my eBay selling, I started scouring garage and yard sales, estate sales, and local auctions. I also used my local newspaper classifieds. Bargain hunting became my “business” and it was a business that was always challenging and exciting.

The more knowledgeable I became, the easier it was for me to find great bargains. I learned how to know if an item had profit potential by looking at it. I was amazed at what some people considered “junk” and the prices they sold for. (Remember, most people can be “haggled” with to get the price even lower!)

My most successful items (remember, I just chose a few that I was comfortable with) were items I bought at estate sales like textiles (bedspreads, doilies, etc.) and old tools. “Old stuff” sells quite well on eBay if the item’s condition is good. If the condition is not good, make sure you are honest about that in your ad. You will still get bids.

I would not recommend attempting to sell items you know nothing about. If there are certain items you would like to sell, make sure you acquire as much information about them as possible. You should know what the item usually sells for and how much it is really worth. You do not want to lose money; you want to make money!

Once you are ready to start selling, learn about eBay’s rules and guidelines for selling. When you click on the word “sell” on the main eBay site, a page comes up that contains many resources and tools for sellers. Make sure you read over all of the information because it will increase your chances of being successful at selling on eBay.

Now you are ready to sell. Your ad is the most important piece of the selling game on eBay. The text and graphics in your ad will have a huge effect on the price you can get for your items. The better your pictures and description are, the better your price will be.

You will need to decide how long you want your auction to run. There are 3-day auctions and 7-day auctions. As a rule, the 7-day auctions are good because it gives people a longer time to bid up your items. Of course, the items you are selling sometimes dictate which type of auctions you should use. Make sure you check to see which type of auctions similar items sell for.

You can also choose to include a “Buy it now” button. This button allows buyers to purchase your item instantly at whatever price you set. Before you use this option, make sure you are comfortable with the price you are setting and make sure the price is not too low.

How do you make money on eBay? Do your homework, find your items, list your items, and wait for the bidding to begin! It IS possible to make money on eBay!

8 Essential Tips On How To Write A Sales Letter

Before you can embark on the monumental task of writing effective sales letters, there are certain things you have to possess first and it’s not having a deeper vocabulary or the eloquence of a poet. Rather, you need to possess adequate grammar skills (knowing the difference from their and there is a start), knowledge of your target market, and familiarity with sales letters in general. If you have all of those down to pat then it’s definitely time for you to write one yourself.

8 Essential Tips on How to Write a Sales Letter

Tip #1 Establishing Rapport with Your Reader – Start by addressing your reader personally. Rather than writing Dear Madam, go ahead and write Dear Martha. Use “you” instead of “one”, “he”, or “she” when writing the rest of your sales letter. Use a friendly and conversational tone so that a customer won’t hesitate later on to make his inquiries or voice out any of his concerns. And at the end of your letter, sign it personally so that it would truly seem like a private letter between you two than just something that’s mass-produced.

Tip #2 Establishing the Facts Pronto – Your first paragraph – not counting the ones which are made up of greetings and other courtesy lines for your customers – must contain basic information about who you are and why you’re writing to them. By the end of the paragraph, you should have also established your credibility and thus providing them the necessary reason to read more of what you have to say.

Tip #3 Validate Your Claims – The following paragraphs should validate what you have initially claimed in your first paragraph. You can use graphical presentations, statistics, facts from well-established authorities, success stories, and anything else that will let your readers know you’re for real.

Tip #4 Use the Appropriate Writing Style and Approach – Knowing the answer to this will depend greatly on how familiar you are with the wants and needs of your target market. If you are catering to teenagers for instance then they’ll greatly appreciate it if you use simple and hip terms. Speak their language in other words!

Tip #5 Be Careful about Using Graphics – Pictures may speak a thousand words, but they’re not at all easy to download in the Internet. They are better used in direct mail sales letters, but if you’re willing to give them a shot for online use, make sure they’re edited with SEO in mind. Keep them small, reduce their quality without sacrificing image presentation, and provide them with captions.

Tip #6 Make It Unique – Sales letters may use the same formula over and over, but those that are successful will have certain unique features or memorable lines included in their letters. Yours must have one or two of those as well. Making your sales letter unique and original in at least one part of it will ensure that your readers will enjoy better recall of your company’s offers.

Making your letter unique is easier said than done, but one way to do it is by concentrating on what your company has and others don’t.

Tip #7 Creating the Best Subject Line and Title – Writing titles are sometimes more difficult than writing the actual content. To make this task easier, it’s best to leave them at the end. Once you’ve completed the content of your sales letter, you’ll usually have an easier way of summarizing everything up with the appropriate subject line and title. As you go about forming them, just make sure you keep them brief but interesting. Ultimately, titles and subject lines must be able to explain the gist of your sales letter but at the same time serve as an irresistible invitation to read more about it.

Tip #8 Ending with a Strong Call for Action – Anyone with any knowledge and experience in writing sales letters will always tell you to end with a strong call for action, and this article won’t be any different because it’s truly integral. After all the things you’ve said in your letter, you have to remind them at the end what your point was in writing in the first place. Emphasize the need and urgency behind the action!

Follow these eight tips, and your sales letters are sure to attain their objectives!
