How To Monitor Your Child On The Internet

While the Internet is a great resource for researching homework assignments and learning about the world, it is also a tool misused and abused by online predators. Children surfing the Internet have been known to both knowingly and unknowingly stumble on a wide range of dangerous situations. Throughout the years, parents used to be worried about porn on the Internet, but today, modern online circumstances can lead to much more. This is why monitoring the surfing practices of your children can keep them out of harm's way and possibly save their lives.

There are many individuals that prey upon the innocence, gullibility and trust of today’s children. Their impressionable minds can be easily molded and shaped by others as they desperately attempt to retrieve as much information as possible. Today, thousands of children are verbally abused, sexually harassed and taken advantage of all over the Internet. They trust the people they meet on the Web and may soon find themselves spiraling out of control in an online world they do not fully comprehend.

How to Use Monitoring Software and Hardware

When paying a visit to the Spy Shop you will find several Internet monitoring devices and software to help track your child’s Internet activity. For example, with the AceSpy Spy Software v3.7, parents can see all of their children’s interactions with a simple email check. The software secretly records all of the things that occur on your computer. Your child’s emails, Instant Messaging chats and visited websites are just some of the information you will have access to.

The Top Online Threats for Children

Today, more and more parents are turning to undetectable hardware and software that monitors their child’s Internet activities. This extra defense arms parents with the tools they need to stop disaster before it strikes. It also lets them know when to limit the amount of time their children have access to the Web. Below, you will find some of the top threats that children face on the Internet:

Sexual Predators: Whether a 30-year-old poses as a 15-year-old to “talk dirty” or encourages an online relationship, there are many lonely teenagers looking for attention in all of the wrong places. The worst cases lead to online acquaintances taking their communication beyond the computer and setting dates to meet in person. An assortment of potential harm may occur, including the next threat.

Kidnappers: It could be the promise to make your child famous or to sell something they want for less money, but whatever the reason, kidnappers use all tactics to appeal to the young. They will make an offer that is quite hard to refuse, prompting them to meet outside of the computer. This gives kidnappers the perfect chance to snatch up a victim who unknowingly fell into their trap.

Unhealthy Information: Since children soak up information like a sponge, it is not hard to entice, flatter or persuade them into accepting values and points of view that may not be healthy. Whether it is a cult leader of a wacky religious group or a step-by-step guide for self-mutilation (cutting) or eating disorders, there is plenty of unhealthy information you’d rather not have your child exposed to.

To keep these scary occurrences from taking place, it is recommended to consider the use of computer monitoring software or hardware, which could make a world of difference regarding the safety of your child.
